SB795 Advocate Training
Original Air Date: December 11, 2017
SB795 passed during the 2017 session, and requires that medical personnel and law enforcement dispatch an advocate when a survivor presents for medical-forensic care.
This 60-minute webinar will cover how the law provides survivors with access to in-person information about the advocacy options available to them, including the option to decline services, so survivors can fully consent to the kind of care they receive. We will discuss what has and hasn’t changed with passage of the law, which goes into effect Jan 1, 2018.
Michele Roland-Schwartz, Executive Director and Nicole Broder, SANE Coordinator are joined by Sexual Assault Training Institute Instructors BB Beltran (Sexual Assault Support Services – SASS in Lane County), Kim Larson (Marion County DA Victim Assistance Program), and Lisa Norton (My Sister’s Place, Lincoln County).
This webinar is meant for advocacy programs, but all disciplines are encouraged to view.
