Statewide Comprehensive Prevention Training

Oregon SATF’s annual Comprehensive Prevention Training is back! Informed by national evidence and Oregon-specific best practices for effective violence and abuse prevention, our goal is to further support, connect, and sustain participants and their collective efforts.
Facilitated alongside community partners from across the state, and with flexible opportunities to choose sessions and topics that feel most relevant, this training seeks to meet participants needs wherever they are at on their prevention journey.
WHAT YOU GET:
Participants in the training will leave better prepared to:
Implement/bolster comprehensive, effective prevention efforts in their communities, institutions, and schools, and;
Create + deepen professional partnerships with preventionists from across Oregon.
*COST: This training uses a sliding scale to increase accessibility for all people, while still ensuring we can afford to host the training. Please read the following descriptions carefully and select the right funding level for you.
Sustainer Level ($110): Your organization is supporting your attendance.
Connector Level ($80): This discounted registration option is for independent professionals, organizers, freelancers, and activists who are covering the registration cost out of pocket and not an organizational budget.
Community Level ($50): This discounted registration is reserved for those who meet one or more of the following criteria:
Are currently underemployed;
Youth/ Minors (Under 18 Years Old);
Those in undergraduate programs or young adults ages (18-24);
Community members who experience oppression based on 2 or more identities they hold; and/or
Who are not supported to attend by their organization financially.
Registration Waiver: For this training, we are able to provide a registration waiver for a select number of attendees. This is for those that, for whatever reason, are unable to cover the cost of the training at any sliding scale level. Please email taskforce@oregonsatf.org for the waiver application.

What’s included
In-Person, engaging training format
Oregon SATF's two and half day, in-person Comprehensive Violence and Abuse Prevention Training is designed to meet the learning needs of adult learners: with interactive, skills-based activities, and opportunities to connect with colleagues locally and across the state! Our hope is to help you gain the skills and information you need, while having a lot of fun along the way!
Training certificate
Each participant that completes the entirety of the two and a half day training earns a certification of completion via PDF, making it easy to maintain for your training records.
Tangible tools and resources
All participants will receive a copy of Oregon SATF’s nationally-recognized Comprehensive Prevention Toolkit, and additional resources relevant for practitioners collaborating on violence prevention efforts across the state.

Training format
This interactive, in-person, two and a half day training utilizes a variety of engagement strategies (ex. visual, auditory, physical) and a lot of skills practice and connection opportunities. The training will feature varied community partners and Oregon SATF staff as facilitators and cover at least the following topics:
