Campus Advocate Cohort
Mission + What We Do
The mission: The mission of the Campus Advocate Cohort is to establish best practices, training, and capacity building initiatives for advocacy programs and professionals implementing advocacy services at institutions of higher education (colleges and universities) in the state of Oregon.
What we do: Our cohort works to identify common/shared needs of students seeking advocacy services at colleges and universities, and the professional and peer advocates that support them.
Members of the Campus Advocate Cohort will inform SATF’s strategic plan to support professional advocates in Oregon, have the opportunity to network and learn from other advocates on college and university campuses, and inform the development of resources that enhance capacity for all professional and peer advocates at Oregon's 2 and 4 year higher education programs.
Participating in the Cohort
Who is eligible to join: Professional advocates and advocate program coordinators (staff or faculty) working at 2 or 4 year programs in higher education in Oregon, and co-located advocates employed by community programs that specifically serve college students in Oregon. Institutions that receive VOCA Campus Advocacy funds from CVSSD must identify a designee for the Campus Advocate Cohort as part of their VOCA-C projects.
When we meet: Monthly via Zoom
Cost: Free!
