What you will do in this role

The SANE Workforce Development Coordinator serves as Oregon SATF’s implementation specialist for SANE/SAE workforce development, rural outreach, and training as part of the Oregon SATF SPROUT Project.

You will spend your time:

  • Coordinating professional development and training opportunities for practicing SANEs/SAEs and healthcare professionals working toward SANE certification and/or competency;

  • Conducting outreach and relationship building with Oregon’s rural and remote healthcare workforce and institutions in order to promote investment and engagement with the medical forensic needs of sexual assault survivors;

  • Utilizing project management skills and tools to build, expand, and enhance programming that supports the development of the SANE/SAE workforce across Oregon; and

  • Collaborating with other Oregon SATF program staff, instructors, and community stakeholders to create, implement, and evaluate agency-wide initiatives related to the response to and prevention of sexual violence.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Provide project management and coordination for the development of Oregon’s first SANE/SAE Mentorship Program;

  • In partnership with Oregon SATF’s Training Coordinator and SANE Program Coordinator, coordinate on SANE/SAE training and educational workshops, including hands-on clinical skills opportunities, didactic courses, and online learning;

  • Commit time and resources both virtually and in-person to strengthen and grow collaborative relationships with community partners, particularly rural healthcare providers, that support anti-violence programs; and

  • Collaborate with and support the SANE Certification Commission, Medical Forensic Committee, and their staff liaisons as needed

Minimum qualifications

We recognize that your time is valuable. For transparency, we will be looking for the following minimum qualifications:

  • At least three years of relevant experience providing one of the following: sexual violence advocacy, sexual violence prevention programming, or SANE/SAE care.

  • Knowledge of sexual assault and abuse dynamics and the systems that serve survivors across the lifespan; including completion of the Oregon required 40-hour advocacy training or a willingness to complete said training within the first six months of employment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field OR additional related work experience beyond 3 years. 

  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-part projects, timelines, deliverables, and partner responsibilities. 

  • Experience developing and facilitating training, group meetings, and workgroups. 

  • Demonstrated ability to make connections between oppression as a root cause of violence and abuse. 

  • Knowledge and experience with core concepts of trauma-informed responses, survivor-centered services, and the connections between sexual assault advocacy and healthcare. 

  • Experience working with broad and diverse coalitions of people and stakeholders.

  • Skill with standard office equipment and software, including Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom.

Desired attributes

  • Skill with additional software applications, including Canva, Articulate 360, and Docusign a plus.

  • Experience working with healthcare systems. healthcare professionals, medical-forensic services, healthcare workforce development, mentorship, or clinical education. 

  • Experience working with rural, remote, Tribal, or geographically isolated communities. 

  • Experience with analyzing and developing policies that support/advance survivor-centered strategies to addressing sexual violence. 

  • Experience  with grant implementation, reporting, funding proposals, or funder collaboration.. 

  • Experience with systems-level violence response work, as well as the ability to make connections/build relationships between direct service providers and the larger systems and institutions in the violence and abuse prevention and/or response field.
