Law Enforcement Webinar: Trust Fall: Overcoming “Credibility Challenges” in Sexual Violence Investigations

$0.00

Thursday, March 27th at 12 PM PST

While every case has its own set of challenges, when it comes to survivors who use substances, survivors with past incarceration histories, or survivors who struggle with mental health, our own biases are often what trip us up. These survivors are all on the spectrum of “credibility issues.” When elements of a case add layers of complexity, it’s still our job to work the case to the best of our ability. So how do we find the best practices and most effective approaches to communicating with survivors whose experiences may be called into question? How do we address these challenges in a way that helps survivors navigate the system and pursue justice?  This course is designed to address the most critical challenges in cases where survivors are labeled as “less than credible” and provide strategies for dismantling that defense.
