Adult/Adolescent SANE Clinical Skills Lab - Registration Now Open
The Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force (SATF) is pleased to offer its Adult/Adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Clinical Skills Lab, a hands-on training designed for nurses who have completed an approved 40-hour SANE didactic course and are actively working toward clinical competency and/or SANE certification.
This two-day, in-person lab provides supervised practice in key forensic nursing skills, including:
Pelvic and anogenital examination with Gynecological Teaching Associates (GTAs)
Evidence collection techniques
Forensic photography
Trauma-informed patient communication
Case-based scenario integration
Purpose: The purpose of this educational activity is to prepare the didactically trained SANE for clinical aspects of the adult/adolescent sexual assault medical-forensic examination.
Who Should Attend:Registered Nurses or Advanced Practice Providers who have completed their Oregon or other IAFN-aligned SANE didactic training and are preparing for SANE certification and/or competency-based training.
Eligibility and Priority: Due to limited space, priority registration will be given to:
SANEs practicing in rural or frontier communities
Clinicians with limited access to clinical training or preceptorship
Registrants who sign up early
A $200 travel scholarship is available for those traveling 40 miles or more to attend.
CE's and Accreditation: Participants who complete this training will be provided 16 Contact Hours. This activity has been submitted for IAFN approval.
