Nina (she/they/ella)

Prevention Coordinator

Nina is an educator, storyteller, and world-builder who adorns herself in her everyday armor of gold hoop earrings and her gold nameplate. Nina is excited to continue her journey in the DV/SA field as the new Prevention Coordinator with Oregon SATF!

In their previous roles, Nina worked as the program coordinator for Portland State University’s confidential advocacy program, where they provided direct service advocacy to student survivors of domestic and sexual violence. In this role, she was able to operate as a co-conspirator to ensure student survivors had their voices heard, experiences validated, and needs met. Prior to joining PSU, Nina worked as a sexuality educator, where her focus and expertise was centered on creating and facilitating a culturally responsive Spanish/English Latine sex ed curriculum.

Nina’s time as a sex educator, confidential advocate, and her lived experience continues to inform the ways in which she navigates and challenges the systems in place. She fiercely champions all things related to reproductive justice, community, and liberation by actively working to decolonize the ideologies that further strip our communities of their collective liberation.

When Nina isn’t re-imagining our future liberation, you can find her chismeando with her community, sharing a meal with her loved ones, or watching the Real Housewives with her ma!
