Intersections of Oppression and Sexual Violence
This position paper was developed as part of an ongoing effort to communicate the values and perspectives driving the work of the Prevention and Education Committee (PEC) of Oregon SATF. The Intersections of Oppression and Sexual Violence Paper is foundational to and informs all of our work, as PEC.
It is meant to refine and communicate the need for addressing sexual violence across the spectrum of prevention. This paper is a part of several position papers that PEC has written; we recommend you read this paper after reading PEC’s “Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence” paper. In its current form, the intended primary audience is AGSATF members.
Secondarily, it is meant for people working at a systems level. This is an intermediate to advanced level paper, in which we assume the readers are coming to it with an anti-violence perspective.
