About Advocate Training
Join Oregon SATF for the return of our annual statewide, sexual assault-specific privileged advocate certification training! This in-person training is designed to meet Oregon’s Advocate Privilege training standards, and will prepare advocates and their collaborators to best support the needs of survivors and victims seeking support after experiences with sexual violence and abuse.

Registration window: Registration opens July 15, closes September 2 (or when capacity is reached).

Community-based advocates in local DV/SA programs, SA-specific advocates, advocates in culturally-specific programs (Tribal, school-based, etc.), DAVAP advocates, Campus-based advocates, co-located advocates, and anyone interested in deepening their knowledge to provide support to survivors and victims of sexual violence.

Yes. Under Oregon's Advocate Privilege law, advocates must:
complete at least 40 hours of training in advocacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking, approved by the Attorney General by rule; and
be an employee or a volunteer of a qualified victim services program.

Yes. In accordance with Oregon law, participants must participate in all 40-hours of training to be able to receive certification. No refunds will be provided to participants that do not receive certification due to missing training.

Limited scholarships are available to cover the cost of registration.

Scholarship Criteria & Prioritization
A limited number of scholarships will be provided to cover the cost of the $325 registration fee for Oregon SATF’s 40-hour Sexual Assault Advocacy Training . Participants who are awarded a scholarship are still responsible for costs associated with travel, including mileage, lodging, and meals.
Priority will be given to:
Participants working within ‘qualified victim services programs’ as defined by ORS 40.264;
Participants from culturally specific advocacy organizations and those specifically working with survivors from BIPOC communities;
Advocates from Tribal Nations and Programs;
Advocates serving rural and frontier communities.
