Greetings from Shannon

Hello SATF Friends and Collaborators,

I am reaching out to introduce myself to you as SATF's new Executive Director.  For those of you who I've not yet had the privilege to meet, you are welcome to read a bit about my background and approach to this work on my staff bio page.

On a personal note, I want to first share that I have respected and appreciated the work of the Task Force for many years now, so stepping into this position is something I do with joy, humility, and a heck of a lot of positive energy for the days ahead.

I've known SATF to be an organization that truly centers survivors, deeply values its statewide partnerships, and does not falter from advocating for trauma-informed responses to sexual violence and abuse.  I've also appreciated SATF's focus on primary prevention strategies that forge the path forward for safer, more just, more equitable communities across our state and beyond.  These are all values and approaches that align with my own vision and hopes for where we will continue to go in the future as an agency, and as a larger community working to prevent and respond to sexual violence. We all have such important roles to play in this work and I'm thankful to be surrounded by so many thoughtful and talented people in any direction that I look!

I'm excited that some of you are familiar and long time partners that I've already come to know, but I am also looking forward to meeting new-to-me partners in this work.  In the tradition of the Task Force's commitment to collaboration and community, please consider my virtual door open.  I'd love to hear from you about your own relationship with SATF and learn from your expertise and experiences.  Please feel free to reach out anytime via email, for a virtual chat, or (dare I say it) even an in-person meet up.

With gratitude,

Shannon Rose  (she/her)
