HIV nPEP Following Sexual Assault

his training will help educate Oregon Sexual Assault Examiners on how to discuss and implement HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) with patients. At the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Verbalize three risk factors placing patients at higher risk for HIV transmission following sexual assault.
2. Name the CDC-preferred regimen for HIV nPEP.
3. State where patient assistance paperwork for Truvada and Isentress can be located.
4. List three severe possible side effects of nPEP medications that all patients should be educated on prior to discharge.
