Training and Technical Assistance

The Oregon Attorney General’s Sexual Assault provides regular, high-quality and professional discipline-specific and multidisciplinary training  and technical assistance to victim advocates, law enforcement, sexual assault nurse examiners/sexual assault examiners (SANE/SAEs), prosecutors, campus practitioners, and sexual assault response teams, among others, which are intended to increase knowledge, skills and victim sensitivity.

The Prevention Program works to eliminate the root causes of sexual violence in order to stop sexual violence before it occurs. We believe that it is possible for Oregonians to successfully address and prevent sexual violence in our institutions, communities and relationships and to promote a peaceful, safe and healthy environment in which all Oregonians can live and thrive. ORSATF develops information, resources, and training related to sexual violence prevention and sexual health promotion; provides technical assistance and support to local sexual violence prevention efforts; oversees the provision of Rape Prevention and Education funding to local community organizations; coordinates state-wide prevention initiatives and activities; and implements the Recommendations to Prevent Sexual Violence in Oregon: A Plan of Action, the state’s strategic sexual assault prevention plan.
