Ashley Maier

Prevention Program Coordinator
Email Ashley

Ashley started with the SATF in August 2009. While an undergraduate student in Illinois, she found her passion for ending oppression through courses addressing community psychology and sexual harassment. With this new lens, she chose to earn a M.S.W. with an individualized concentration on women’s studies, specifically focusing on violence against women, gender inequality, and social change, at Washington University in St. Louis. She began her career by providing direct services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and grew to lead programs, groups, and initiatives focused on issues such as teen relationship violence prevention, community health and family violence training for physicians, community activism, and anti-oppression leadership. Ashley believes that sexual violence is a preventable manifestation of oppression. A champion for primary prevention, she is committed to promoting strong, healthy environments inhospitable to the roots of sexual violence.
